The Average Charger Speed vs. The IQ 200

There is nothing else on the market like the Blink IQ 200. Blink designed an 80-amp charger to be installed on a 100-amp circuit; Level 2 charging does not get any faster than this. The physical equipment is already capable of offering far more amps than new many new EVs need. The Porsche Taycan has a battery capacity of 79.2 kWh, and it would take 12 hours to charge on an average Level 2 charger. The Blink IQ 200 would change the same car in around 4-5 hours.

How It Works

EV batteries can accept 80% of the available output of a circuit. Therefore, equipment installed on a 40-amp circuit will output 32 amps. Nearly all Level 2 chargers sold require a 40-amp circuit so they can charge at 32 amps. Most Level 2 chargers charge an EV at around 15-25 range miles per hour, but with recent advances in EVs, is this still good enough?

Are You Getting All the Power You Can With an Average Level 2 Charger?

The average EV has a battery capacity of around 36 kWh and an average onboard power rating of 6.6kW, taking about 5.5 hours to charge the EV from empty to full, with the average Level 2 charger. But the days when every EV was small and had a short-range are over. EVs are bigger, better, and more powerful, with a longer range every day.

The new Ford F-150 Lightning has a battery capacity of over 116.7 kWh. With a 7.2 kW charger and a 116.7 kWh battery capacity, the Ford F-150 Lightning would take 18 hours to charge on average Level 2 chargers!

Our IQ 200 charger, which can charge at a rate of up to 65 RPH (miles of range per hour), has an 80-amp output on a 100-amp circuit, making charging faster and easier than ever before. The IQ 200 can deliver more power than EVs currently can use, up to 65 miles of range per hour with an output of 19.2 kW.

Another charging company offers a Level 2 charger with a few of the same features. This product can charge a vehicle up to 25 miles of range per hour (RPH). While 25 miles of range per hour is typical for a high-quality Level 2 charger, it just doesn’t compare to the IQ 200, which can charge as fast as 65 RPH.

Don’t accept less than the best. There’s only ONE IQ 200. Charge On with Blink.
