It’s a new year and that means new electric vehicles for 2025! Blink Charging has hand-picked six exciting new releases to preview what's next in the world of EVs. We have left out some speculative EVs that have been rumored, but not confirmed, like the Tesla Model Q and the Xiaomi YU7, which is allegedly slated for a mid-2025 release, but which the company has not released any official information about. Without further ado, here are six EVs that are confirmed for 2025!
Audi A6 e-tron
Starting price:
A6 Sportback e-tron - €62,800 euros
A6 Avant e-tron - €64,450
A6 Sportback e-tron quattro - €79,800
A6 Avant e-tron quattro - €81,450
Range:
A6 Sportback e-tron - 390 miles (627 km)
A6 Avant e-tron - 372 miles (598 km)
A6 Sportback e-tron quattro - up to 445 miles (716 km)
A6 Avant e-tron quattro- up to 426 miles (685 km)
The Audi A6 e-tron will be available in both a Sportback and an Avant body style in February 2025. Drivers will have their choice of a standard A6 version or the peppier S6 version. The base A6 e-tron model comes in rear-wheel drive and will produce 362 horsepower (hp) while the all-wheel-drive (or “quattro”) model will produce a more robust 422 hp. If that’s not enough for you, there is an S6 e-tron that will produce 543 hp to launch you from zero to 60 miles-per-hour (mph) in a zippy 3.7 seconds.
According to Audi: “At a suitable (high power) charging station, up to 260 kilometers can be recharged in just ten minutes for the Sportback and 245 kilometers for the Avant. The State of Charge (SoC) increases from 10 to 80 percent in 21 minutes.”
This goes for the quattro versions, as well. The impressive charging time is thanks to “intelligent, high-performance, and predictive thermal management.”
GMC Sierra EV Denali
Starting price: Estimated $70,000 to $100,500 depending on features and trim model
Range: Extended Range edition - 390 miles (628 km), Max Range edition - 460 miles (740 km)
GMC is set to release two brand new versions of its Sierra Denali electric pickup trucks; the Extended Range and Max Range. Both versions come with the increasingly common 800-volt battery architecture that can add up to 100 miles (161 km) of range in about 10 minutes of charging. In addition, the Air Ride adaptive suspension allows you to raise and lower the entire truck up to two inches. Plus, the rear wheels can turn, which lets you go diagonally at low speeds. The entry-level Elevation and the made-for-offroading AT4 models are expected to debut in 2025.
Hyundai Ioniq 9
Starting price: Estimated $62,000 to $73,000 depending on features and trim model
Range: 385 miles (620 km) for the long-range battery version with rear wheel drive and 19" wheels
The IONIQ 9’s 800V battery system supports charging at up to 350 kW when plugged into a Direct Current Fast Charger (DCFC), according to Hyundai. As is becoming more common with EVs, the IONIQ 9’s 110.3-kWh battery pack (in the long-range rear-wheel drive model) will charge from 10 to 80 percent in 24 minutes when connected to a DCFC. With three rows of seating, the IONIQ 9 is a full-sized SUV with a base model that has a single 215-hp motor and an additional all-wheel drive version. It should be available in spring of 2025.
Lucid Gravity Grand Touring
Starting price:
$81,550 Gravity Touring model
$96,500 Gravity Grand Touring model
Range: 450 miles (724 km)
Billed as a high-performance luxury SUV, Lucid’s Gravity Grand Touring model is set to arrive in the first half of this year while the base Touring model will arrive in the second half of 2025. Armed with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, the Gravity will shoot you from 0 to 60 in a staggeringly fast 3.5 seconds, all while providing three rows of seating and a towing capacity of 6,000 lbs.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class G580
Starting price: $161,500
Range: 239 miles (385 km)
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class G580 has not one, not two, not even three, but four electric motors (which Mercedes-Benz describes as “permanently synchronous”) that combine to provide a walloping 579 hp. What really makes this SUV stand apart, though, is its G-Steering, which tightens its turn radius for enhanced off-road capability. Also enhancing its off-road performance is its individual-wheel drive with selectable LOW RANGE drivetrain.
Polestar 5
Starting price: N/A, but estimates place it at above $100,000
Range: N/A
Do you want horsepower? The Polestar 5, slated to be released in 2025, will produce a whopping 884 hp from its 800-volt battery, which makes this a true performance vehicle.
